The Euro Cup ended and it is the moment for
continued our trip around the Wroclaw’s History. This blog isn’t a football blog
and I spoke about that because it was an important event among Spain and
Poland. And my country gave a lesson of good football and our selection made
History.
Breslau was occupied during the Napoleonic Wars
by an army of the Confederation of the Rhine. The fortifications of the city
were leveled and monasteries and cloisters were secularised. The protestant Viadrina
University of Frankfurt was recolocated to Wroclaw in 1811 and united with the
local Jesuits University to create the new Silesian Frederick – William University
( now University of Wroclaw our University in few months). The City played an
important role against Napoleonic Power. Wroclaw became the centre of the German
liberation against Napoleon, and the gathering place for volunteers from all
over Germany. The city was the centre of Prussian mobilisation for the campaign
which ended at Leipzig.
